Delaware & Raritan Canal
Paddlers' Race

The Sunday before Thanksgiving

Advance registration is required.

Since the canal is wide and has gentle turns, a somewhat more interesting start will be used than in most other races. As many as 8 canoes will be started at once. The slowest boats first. Another group will be started as soon as possible. This will provide the shortest delay at the start and finish as well as a more competitive atmosphere. In contrast to the "lonely" or "are we still in the race" feeling, we hope to have a more "social" race. There are no overhanging trees, no sandbars and no "log jumps".

The race will start at the Canal House in Blackwell's Mills, south of Millstone .

There is 1 short portages .
